Joan Dellavalle is an Australian motivational speaker, qualified hairstylist, businesswoman, mentor and life coach known for her work in empowerment, resilience, diversity and inclusion.

Originally from Zambia, Joan migrated to Australia in 2001. In 2003, she founded Ebony and Ivory, an inclusive hair salon created to welcome and care for all hair types.

Joan’s commitment to creating positive change was shaped by the loss of her father to AIDS in 1992. This personal experience inspired her to turn adversity into purpose and help others recognise their own potential.

Her community and leadership work has earned numerous awards and recognitions, including Belmont Woman of the Year 2011 and the Women Economic Forum Iconic Women Creating a Better World for All Award. She was also a finalist in the City of Perth Auspire Community Citizen of the Year Awards and has received a Google Developers Certificate of Appreciation.

Joan is also an Oprah Daily Insider and Oprah Ambassador, and has had the opportunity to meet one of her greatest inspirations, Oprah Winfrey.
